Arman Hambardzumyan (Born 1988)
Graduated from State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia in 2011. Member of Artists’ Union of Armenia since 2011.
Arman Hambardzumyan rethinks his deep interest in ancient cultures in modernistic style. Spirits of the ancestors in all their glory and ghostly weakness are embodied in sharp and expressive shapes. These are like hurricanes between epochs – one can see images from different ages blinking here and there. Hambardzumyan’s art is a dialogue between Armenian art and European modernism. His greatest inspirations are Urartian sculpture and Ervand Kochar, Rouault and Picasso and many others.
